God of War 2

Picture
God of War 2 takes everything from the original; the unique combat, the cinematic presentation and, of course, the violence, and pushes it to another level. The game is more gory, the graphics are better and there are more bosses as well as a variety of new enemies and weapons for you to toy with.

The combat is an evolution of the series rather than a revolution. The general feel of the fights remains intact although this time around, you are bombarded by more, larger and tougher enemies. A few new moves, and enemies to practice with, serve to spice up the combat and keep it fresh. The most significant addition is the bosses. There was only one real boss enemy in the original and now you’ll fight several throughout the course of God of War 2. The boss fights serve to break up the normal combat and are extremely difficult.

The story of God of War is continued in the sequel and it is even more epic than the first time around. Kratos knows no bounds and he ends up taking the fight to the king of the Gods, Zeus.

This game contains some of the finest moments in gaming. Flying through the clouds on a hippogryff, using your blades to swing through crumbling ruins and a two-dimensional silhouette fight come to mind. The game opens with Kratos fighting the Colossus of Rhodes, and it never lets up until he has demonstrated his revenge on the Gods.

If you played the original, you’ll surely like the sequel. It changes little, but retains the massive dose of quality and polish that made the original shine.
